Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter 2020-2021 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

My first meme! This one seemed like an interesting way to outline my future TBR and books I’m intending on reviewing on here in the future. So, here we go!

  1. Among The Beasts & Briars by Ashley Poston

This one gives me all the whimsical fairy tale vibes and the cover is absolutely stunning. I’ve only read one contemporary by Ashley Poston (Geekerella) which I enjoyed so much I gave it 5 stars, I’m hoping this will be another 5 star read!

2. The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang

I don’t think there’s anyone who likes fantasy books who hasn’t heard of this series. The third book was recently released and I’m so excited to get a start on it finally!

3. The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

I mentioned this in my 5 Books I Meant to Read in 2020 post. Will I finally be able to read it in 2021? Who knows haha.

4. Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare

I recently did a reread of The Infernal Devices that re-sparked my love for Cassie Clare’s Shadowhunters books. I’ve had a very up and down journey with some of her series but TID will always be one of my favourite series and I’m hoping this new one is just as good.

5. All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace

We have mysterious pirates and princesses determined to save their kingdoms. It seems like the perfect fantasy novel to get lost in for a couple of hours. Also, it features another stunning cover!

6. A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer

The only one on my list that hasn’t been released yet! I’ve only just finished the first book so depending on my enjoyment of the second this one is a bit up in the air. I did like A Curse So Dark and Deadly but it definitely wasn’t without it’s flaws. I’m hoping to finish Heart So Fierce next week and then I’ll see if I want preorder this one or not!

7. The Lost Future of Pepperharrow by Natasha Pulley

The Watchmaker of Filigree Street is one of my favourite books of the year. I absolutely adored everything about it! The world building, the atmosphere, the characters. I can’t wait to dive into the sequel and then get Natasha Pulley’s new book when it comes out next year!

8. Thorn by Intisar Khanani

This is another fairy tale retelling (can you tell I have a bit of a soft spot for them?). Thorn is based around the story of the Goose Girl and I’m interested to see how Khanani puts their own spin on it.

9. A Throne of Swans by Katharine & Elizabeth Corr

Another one that fell a bit by the way side this year. This was one I mainly bought for the cover, I even ordered a special edition from Forbidden Planet with sprayed edges. It does sound fascinating though and I believe it’s based around the Swan Princess ballet? The sequel comes out beginning of January so I’m hoping to finish it before then!

10. Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibañez

This is another one with a sequel out in January, although Written in Starlight is not released until the end of the month so I have a little longer to read this one. This is another one with a beautiful illustrated cover and the inside promises to be just a good, with magic, romance and diversity, drawing inspiration from Bolivian politics and history. I’ve heard only good things so my expectations are high!

So, there’s ten books on my TBR for Winter, hopefully I’ll be able to get to at least some of them before the seasons change! Tell me what books are on your TBR for Winter 🧡

Happy Reading,

Lea x

    • haha I only just realised they went straight to spam for some reason! But yes, super super excited for Poppy War and doubly excited that I can read all three in one go and not have to deal with any cliffhangers!
